The highlight of the voyage is certainly the elaborate celebration which overtakes Rio de Janeiro and Brazil for the four days marking Carnival.  With an overnight stay, Azamara Club Cruises’ guests will have ample time to explore famous landmarks like Sugarloaf and the Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking the sprawling city, or perhaps take a stroll along Copacabana Beach, before the evening’s excitement begins. Through Azamara’s Land Discoveries (shore excursions), guests will have exclusive access to the highly sought-after reserved VIP and grandstand seating in the sambadrome to catch the incredible floats and performers, as well as join in the enthusiastic dancing and revelry that continues well into the night or until guests are ready to head back to Azamara Journey, their home away from home.
After the excitement of Rio, Azamara Journey makes its way to captivating Buenos Aires for an overnight stay. With nearly two days in port, up-market travelers are able to explore this Paris of South America at their leisure. Azamara’s distinctive longer stays and more overnights in port offers guests the opportunity to explore destinations by day and night, as well as enjoy dinner in one of the city’s world-class restaurants and maybe take in an evening tango performance.  An optional tour to the Mendoza region allows wine lovers to further explore the stunning landscapes and enjoy the wines, which make the region famous world-wide.
Following the cosmopolitan cities of Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, Azamara Journey treats guests to two beautiful cities known for their seaside towns and beautiful beaches – Punta del Este and Buzio.  Punta del Este, known as the St. Tropez of Uruguay, will delight guests with its wide avenues and sidewalk cafes.  Azamara Journey then makes it way to the beachside town of Buzio for guests to relax and soak up the sun after the excitement of Carnival in true Brazilian fashion.
Azamara Club Cruises offers distinct destination-immersive experiences for up-market travelers. The cruise line uniquely features voyages with longer stays and more overnights at ports to provide guests the opportunity to experience night touring at some of the most compelling destinations of Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the West Indies, and North and South America. Aboard every voyage, guests are treated to AzAmazing Evenings, an authentic, exclusive and bespoke grand event that showcases the unexpected colors, culture and flavors of a destination at night.
